About the Role

We are seeking an experienced senior network engineer to design, deploy, and manage our enterprise-wide network infrastructure in a fast-paced, multi-cloud environment. This role will be pivotal in defining the network roadmap, ensuring security, scalability, and seamless integration across 100+ locations, including on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in Cisco networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and network security. They will serve as the primary escalation point when the MSP cannot resolve issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of our global network operations.

Responsibilities

Network architecture and design

  • Design and implement a robust, security-focused network architecture to support on-premises and multi-cloud environments
  • Define the network roadmap, ensuring technology advancements align with business objectives
  • Lead mergers and acquisitions (M&A) network integrations, optimizing connectivity across newly acquired entities

Network operations and security

  • Manage and optimize WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks to ensure high availability
  • Oversee Cisco and some Juniper network environments, including Cisco ASAs and additional security appliances
  • Work closely with the information security team to implement IAM in Azure and best practices for network security
  • Serve as the point of escalation when the MSP cannot handle network-related incidents

Cloud integration and automation

  • Lead migration of on-premise systems to AWS and Azure, ensuring seamless integration and IAM security controls
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies to enhance network performance and security

Collaboration and vendor management

  • Work with MSP providers, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Act as the voice of the organization from a network perspective, aligning external vendors with internal objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency

Documentation and best practices

  • Maintain structured network documentation and enforce best practices for disaster recovery and compliance
  • Foster an open, knowledge-sharing environment to enhance team collaboration and efficiency
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering/architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior role
  • Deep expertise in Cisco networking, including routers, switches (Catalyst, Nexus), firewalls (ASA, Firepower), and wireless solutions
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Layer 2/Layer 3 switching
  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and IAM security in Azure
  • Experience integrating networks during M&A activities is a plus
  • Strong security mindset, with knowledge of firewalls, IAM, and compliance standards
  • Ability to coordinate with MSPs and act as the escalation point for complex issues
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or Azure Solutions Architect are highly desirable
