A Senior Accounting Manager is needed to lead various accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and external audit requirements. This individual will oversee the monthly closing process, prepare financial reports, and manage lender deliverables. The role supports senior management and involves significant involvement in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and annual audits. Your key duties will include:
- Managing the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate recording of revenues and costs, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.
- Leading financial reporting and accounting for designated portfolios, including audited and unaudited statements.
- Coordinating accounting processes for acquisitions, such as implementing systems, creating opening balance sheets, and resolving purchase price adjustments.
- Guiding and coordinating quarterly and annual asset valuation reporting.
- Acting as the primary liaison with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit completion.
- Providing support for financial data requests and keeping management informed of relevant issues.
- Recommending process improvements and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Performing ad-hoc analyses and contributing to special projects as needed.
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or an advanced degree in accounting.
- 8–12 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying accounting standards to complex transactions.
- Public accounting background preferred.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software, data analytics, and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated success in managing teams effectively.
- Experience in the energy sector is a plus.
