Technical Manager
We are looking for an up-and-coming leader in the IT field who has both strategic and hands-on IT skills and is poised to help our client's company scale and is able to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to launch the company and its employees to success.
Technical hands-on duties include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Duties
- Responsible for architecting new IT features and functions.
- Build and execute the strategic vision for IT Governance aligned to the overall IT & Security strategy.
- Translate audit & technology control requirements to internal business partners and drive alignment on governance & compliance requirements with key partners (Corporate IT, Security, Internal Audit, Privacy, and R&D teams).
- Own the IT risk management process as part of our enterprise risk management program.
- Manage and govern the IT policy program and related policy lifecycle.
- Manage and drive an IT governance team (your direct reports).
- Develop a scalable and repeatable approach to implement controls, monitor those controls, and facilitate internal & external audits across various IT, security, and privacy frameworks efficiently.
- Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing processes and drive remediation of control deficiencies identified during the audit process.
- Advocate for the business value of the IT governance program to internal teammates and key business partners.
- Effectively deliver and manage Governance program status, KPIs/metrics, and risks to leadership and business partners.
- Assist in establishing new procedures, policies, and documentation for all devices and software used.
- Ensure proper security protocols are implemented across all employee-facing interfaces.
- Responsible for oversight of implementation, execution, and efficient operation of the company's network, cloud-hosted software product operations, backups, and recovery solutions, including emergency planning, intrusion, and security planning.
Technical Duties
- SAML and SSO knowledge - Google and Okta.
- Expertise in networking specific to Cisco Meraki.
- API and SSL Certification knowledge.
- Apple Ecosystem: Familiarity with Mac systems, as this is a Mac-based organization.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM): Proficiency in tools such as Jamf is ideal.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software.
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.).
- Maintain records/logs of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Sr. IT role or relevant position.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience providing oversight and operational management for critical IT tools such as Okta, Google Workspaces, Jamf, Meraki, Slack, and Zoom.
- Proficient with a scripting language such as Python, Bash, or Zsh.
- Desire to mentor and develop IT team members.
- Proven ability to maintain, review, and improve operational processes.
- Research and evaluate new products and services that help keep our environment current, relevant, and effective.
- Effectively negotiate and maintain vendor relationships and contracts.
- Ability to train and support employees and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical employees.
